With Republicans like these…Who needs Democrats?

Late Tuesday night, the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives voted 257-167 to approve a measure which will avoid the so-called ‘fiscal cliff,’ after it was approved by the Senate.

The bill (HR8), which President Obama has promised to sign, contains several tax increases including on those who make more than $400,000 a year, a move which will undoubtedly prove devastating to small businesses.

Additionally, the measure, rather laughably dubbed the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 increases the estate tax as well as capital gains taxes.

However, the legislation contained virtually no spending cuts and will extend unemployment benefits for another year.

The most conservative members of the House voted against the measure which basically gave the Democrats everything they wanted and does nothing to address our ever-growing national debt.

In fact, the bill passed with more Democrat support than Republican.
